An Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) turns your diesel generator into a fully automatic backup power system. During load-shedding, the ATS starts the generator and switches your power supply on its own - no manual effort, no waiting in the dark. When city electricity returns, it safely switches the load back and shuts the generator down by itself.
Sakura Power's ATS panels are built with SmartGen controllers - a globally trusted name in generator control systems, known for reliable and precise automatic switching. Available in 4 models to match diesel generators from 20kVA to 110kVA. (Note: our auto-start portable generators already come with a dedicated ATS, so a separate unit is not needed for those models.)
When city electricity goes off:
1. The ATS continuously monitors the city grid supply.
2. The moment it detects a power failure, it checks whether the generator is already running.
3. If the generator is off, the ATS starts it automatically.
4. Once the generator's output becomes stable, the ATS transfers your electrical load from the grid to the generator.
When city electricity comes back:
1. The ATS detects that grid power has been restored.
2. It transfers the load back from the generator to the city supply.
3. It does not switch off the generator immediately. It waits a short cooldown period in case the grid power cuts out again or the voltage is unstable.
4. Once it confirms the supply is stable, it gradually reduces the generator's load.
5. Finally, it shuts the generator down; completing a fully automatic cycle.
This entire process happens without anyone touching the generator or a switch.
